Twitter not loading images? Check these solutions

Twitter has elevated above the tweets a long time ago and media-sharing is an essential feature nowadays. This makes the problem we’re going to talk about today quite a serious one. Why is Twitter not loading pics?

If the Twitter app is not loading pics it might be because of connectivity issues but, more times than not, the problem is temporary and on the server side. However, you can try disabling data-saving options, checking the permissions, and allowing Twitter to use Mobile data in the background.

1. Clear the app’s cache

From the get-go, let’s say that all social networking apps tend to pile up a lot of data. The developer intends to speed up the loading time of images and video thumbnails and thus improve the user’s experience.

But, on many occasions, the abundance of stored cache data can slow down the app’s performance. Also, in this case, it might prevent the loading of new photos. That’s why cleaning the data stored internally on your device might help.

Here’s how to clear the Twitter app cache:

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Apps (Application Manager).
3. Expand All apps.
4. Open Twitter.
5. Choose Storage.
6. Tap Clear Data.
7. Restart your device, open Twitter, and sign in again.

2. Reinstall the app

If the first step fails, reinstallation is the next thing to try. We can’t be certain that will suffice, but it should give you a better insight into what started the picture-loading issue.

Follow these steps to reinstall Twitter and start from scratch:

1. Open Settings > Apps > Twitter.
2. Uninstall the app.
3. Now, open Google Drive > Hamburger menu > Backups > Your device > Apps > App data.
4. Delete Twitter from the list.
5. Open the Play Store and install Twitter.

3. Disable Data saving

Another thing worth trying is to disable the Data saving mode. This mode will tweak media presentations to reduce data usage. However, it can also prevent Twitter from loading images. That’s why you should disable it and give Twitter another go.

Here’s how to disable Data saving on Twitter:

1. Open Twitter on your handset.
2. Tap on the hamburger menu.
3. Select Settings and privacy.
4. Tap Data usage.
5. Uncheck the Data saver box.

4. Check the network permissions

If you have issues loading photos on Twitter only with mobile data, we encourage you to double-check the network permissions. There’s a chance that your device won’t allow Twitter to access the Mobile Data. Of course, without even saying, you need to have at least tolerable network speed.

Here’s where to look for network-related permissions:

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Apps (Application manager).
3. Open Twitter.
4. Choose Data.
5. Make sure that both Wi-Fi and Mobile Data are allowed.

In case Twitter is still not loading images on your Android, try sideloading an older app version.

5. Install older iterations via APK

Finally, if the latest iteration of Twitter is just plain broken and it won’t work, you can always take a step back and download an earlier version. This can be done with the APK file.
