“No Location Found” in Find My: Best solutions
Users have been reporting the “No Location Found” error in Find My for years. Unfortunately, even though the forums are flooded with complaints, we still have no universal solution for this problem. If you’ve recently experienced this issue, you’ll probably just have to wait for Apple to fix it. On the other hand, a few users mentioned some workarounds that helped them. However, these look more like individual cases, so I cannot guarantee these fixes will work for you.
Nevertheless, I’m going to list these workarounds here. Even though I’m not sure any of these will work in your case, it’s better to try them than to do nothing while waiting for Apple to fix the problem.
1. Enable Location Services
You need to enable Location Services for location-dependent apps like Maps and Find My to function. So, the first thing we’re going to try is making sure this option is enabled. Here’s what you need to do:
- Go to Settings.
- Head over to Privacy > Location Services.
- First, make sure to enable Location Services.
- Now, scroll down and tap Find My.
- Choose While using the App under Allow Location Access.
2. Enable Share My Location
You need to have location sharing enabled for FInd My to be able to share your location and see other people’s whereabouts. Here’s how to make sure the Share My Location option is enabled:
3. Check your internet connection
One of the biggest downsides of Find My is that it requires an internet connection. Even if you enable all the location services and GPS, you still need to be properly connected to the internet to share your location with friends and access theirs. So, make sure you’re either connected to a Wi-Fi network or you have enough data in your data plan to be connected via the cellular network.
If you notice any issues with your network connection, check out this article for additional solutions.
4. Update iOS
As I already said above, this problem is probably on Apple’s end. This means there’s probably nothing you can do about it, except wait for Apple to fix it in some of the future iOS updates. That update may come tomorrow, but you could also be waiting for months. I know it’s annoying to just sit with your hands tied, but it is what it is.
To check for new iOS updates, head over to Settings > General > Software Update. If the new update is available, install it and check if the problem still occurs.
That’s about it. I hope at least one of these solutions helped you get rid of the “No Location Found” error in Find My. Although chances aren’t in your favor. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, feel free to let us know in the comments below.
