How to Turn off Do Not Disturb on Text Message iPhone
The crescent moon icon next to your messages or at the top (next to the battery status) stands for the DND. You can enable or disable this option from the Control Center. The DND stands for Do Not Disturb, one of the essential features in both iOS and Android for years.
With the Do Not Disturb mode enabled, you won’t get any incoming calls and notifications. As the name suggests — extremely useful when you don’t want to be disturbed. Of course, there are more than a few things you can configure, allow incoming calls from Favorite contacts, enable Do Not Disturb While Driving, or allow Repeated Calls in case the call is important.
And, if you were chatting with someone and saw the crescent moon icon next to the name of a contact, it means that you won’t be notified of any incoming messages. Besides general settings, you have the option to put certain contacts in the Do Not Disturb state. That way, only notifications or incoming calls from those users won’t come through.
If you want to disable this per contact Do Not Disturb, follow these instructions:
- Open the conversation in Messages.
- Tap on the “i” icon.
- Turn off the Do Not Disturb.
- Tap Done to confirm
After that, you shouldn’t see the Do Not Disturb moon next to a text of that contact on your iPhone. Repeat this for all contacts you want to hear from while the Do Not Disturb mode is on.
