Imagine being late for work or some important appointment because your iPhone alarm suddenly decided not to ring. The most simplistic but important feature is not working for some users. How To Fix Alarm Not Going off iPhone Issue?
Firstly, check the alarm and sound settings. If that doesn’t help, remove that alarm and set a new one, disable Do Not Disturb and Bedtime.
Alternatively, you should disable Bluetooth, update your device, or, if nothing helps, go for the Reset All Settings option.
1. Check the alarm settings
The first thing you should try is just to simply restart your device and test the alarm again. If that doesn’t work, thoroughly inspect Alarm-related settings. You need to check the volume settings, as well.
Follow these steps to confirm that everything is configured as it’s supposed to be:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Sounds.
- Push the slider to the right to set the max volume.
- Now, navigate to the Clock app and select Alarm from the bottom bar.
- Tap Edit at the top left corner.
- Select the alarm you want to change and tap Sound.
- Make sure that the selected option isn’t None. Choose any sound (or even a song if you use Apple Music).
- Go back, set the alarm for an approximate time to test it, and look for changes.

2. Disable the Do Not Disturb and Bedtime
The next thing you should do is disable the Do Not Disturb mode from the Control Center. Look for the crescent moon icon and toggle it off. After that, you should also try to fix the problem by disabling the Bedtime option implemented in Apple Health.
Although great in its own right, this feature doesn’t do well with classic alarms as it seemingly overwrites them. What you should do is stick to the good ol’ classic alarm and disable the Bedtime alarm mode.
Here’s what you need to do:
- Open the Clock app from the Home Screen or App Library.
- Under the Sleep/Wake Up section, tap Change.
- Tap Edit Sleep Schedule in Health.
- Toggle off Sleep Schedule.
3. Set the alarm again
Another thing you can do is just delete the current alarm and create a new one. Some users said that the problem was fixed after creating a new alarm and removing the old one.
You can do so in the Clock app. Make sure to delete all other alarms (if you have multiple alarms set) and add them again. If the issue persists, make sure to check the next step.
4. Disable Bluetooth
If you are using a Bluetooth headset or earbuds, make sure to disconnect them before going to sleep. The alarm should go off on the main speaker regardless if you are connected via Bluetooth audio. However, for the sake of troubleshooting, disable Bluetooth and give the alarm another go.
If that doesn’t help, update the firmware and try resetting all settings on your iPhone.
5. Reset All Settings
The only remaining thing we can recommend is resetting All Settings. This action won’t delete your data but reset all system and app settings to their defaults.
Here’s how to Reset All Settings on your iPhone:
- Open Settings.
- Tap General.
- Select Reset.
- Choose Reset All Settings.
- Enter your Passcode and confirm.
