The Developer options menu offers a lot of interesting but hazardous (if misused) features hidden behind a simple sequence. Now, some users want to disable the Developer options to avoid possible misuse and they were wondering how to go about it. Here, we made sure to explain the procedure belong. This is pretty straightforward as there’s a single toggle at the top that disables Developer options.
How do I turn off developer mode on Android?
Turning developer mode on or off on Android is quite a simple task. Especially disabling the Developer mode, as there’s a large slider in Developer options to toggle the mode on or off. Once you disable it, the Developer options will disappear from the Advanced options menu or System Settings (based on the Android skin your device runs).
So, just navigate to Developer options in Settings > System and you’ll see the toggle at the top. Just switch to OFF and, voila, you disabled Developer options. If you want to re-enable them just go to Settings > System > About and tap 7 times on the Build number.
Now that you have a decent idea of how to disable the Developer options menu, let’s see what options you can use there. Many of them are not to be meddled with but options like Animation Scaling and built-in framerate monitor can come in handy. If you want to, you can also increase Bluetooth volume and even limit the number of background operations.
Some OEMs build their Android skins to be quite restrictive and you can disable their optimization in Developer options. Also, there are features like forced dark mode or OEM unlocking. The latter is for users who want to unlock the Bootloader and flash custom ROMs. Which we don’t suggest before learning a bit about the procedure.
