With all speedy biometric options at our disposal, the Lock screen shortcuts are barely an afterthought these days. However, some OEMs are still persistent about giving access to certain features. An example is the main hub of any Android device — the Quick Settings menu. What to do if you don’t want the Quick Settings menu on the lock screen? You can disable Quick Access Settings on the lock screen from the Lock screen settings. Learn how below.

How do I hide or disable the pull-down menu on my lock screen?

Over time, Android became quite secure and, if you have a lock screen method plus biometrics set up, it’s hard for anyone else but you to access your phone and the data on it. A lot is done in the security and privacy departments with each new iteration of Android but there are slight overlooks that can ire some users.

Out of the box, by just following setup instructions, you’ll make your device safe. But there’s this thing that keeps bothering me and it concerns Quick Access Settings. And I’m not alone.

Namely, on the majority of Android smartphones, anyone can access the Quick Access Settings pull-down menu on the lock screen unless you explicitly disable the option in System Settings. Some tiles are quite important, like Wi-Fi and mobile data. Especially for the Find my device feature if you lose your phone.

On the majority of devices, you can disable this option but on some, you can’t. Google Pixel is a prime example. So, how to disable the Quick Settings pull-down menu on the lock screen? The procedure might be slightly different on different Android devices, but you should essentially look for Lock Screen settings.

This particular setting is usually in Security and Lock Screen settings, so that’s a good place to start looking.

On Samsung devices, there’s a separate Lock screen menu so you can find the option in Settings > Lock screen > Secure lock settings. Once you enter your screen lock PIN/password/pattern, look for the Lock network and security setting. By enabling it, you’ll lock Quick Settings access from the lock screen.disable quick settings menu lock screen

In addition, in Lock Screen settings, you can disable apps and widgets that appear on the lock screen. Some of them are often enabled by default so, if that’s of concern to you, make sure to toggle them off.
